Calling all Volunteer Ninjas!
Our Volunteer Application form for Summer 2014 Girls Rock Camp is now open! Please visit our Volunteer page to see available positions. We are expecting a bigger turnout than last year, so we will need more volunteers — both mentorship and support crew — to make camp happen!
We will be holding a “Fingerprinting Party” (Date and Time TBA) to get everyone fingerprinted for the criminal background check. Then we’ll eat pizza!!!!!!! Those volunteers who aren’t able to make it can get their fingerprinting done on their own, and Rock Camp will reimburse the expense.

We’re excited to announce that we’ll be holding the 2014 Girls Rock Camp program at Valley High School in Santa Ana, on July 21-25. Applications will be posted soon!
We are offering a new program that is geared towards event planning.
The program is called the DIY Teen Leadership program, we are opening the program up to 5 girls aged 15-19 years old, tuition is a non refundable fee of $25/space (sliding scale) . Meetings will be 3 consecutive Saturday mornings from 10am-12pm, starting on February 22, with the festival on March 16, (mandatory attendance at meetings 2/22, 3/1, 3/8 and the festival on 3/16) . Snacks will be provided!
The goal of the program is to teach the girls how to book bands, artists, live performers, films/filmmakers, run the show from start to finish, learn how to run sound, manage bands and throw an amazing event!
The event that the girls will be booking is a festival called Get Off My Lawn, an all ages celebration of International Women’s Day, and will be on March 16 at the Frida Cinema in downtown Santa Ana for the opening weekend of a new non profit independent arts theater!!!
If you are interested in participating, here is the link to the application and the event invitation on Facebook!!!

We are so blessed to have so many wonderful supporters out there!
Thank you to our indiegogo “Rock in the New Year!” campaign donors! Perks will be out in the mail soon! We raised $1,135 to help us get started on plans for this summer’s Girls Rock Camp program.
Thank you to Elaina Soto for organizing the “Just a Girl” art show to benefit Rock Camp! We made a lot of new friends and hung out with some of our fave campers and volunteers. It was awesome to see artwork made by so many different local female artists in one place!
Rock ‘n’ Roll Camp For Girls Orange County‘s indiegogo fundraising campaign has about 8 more days to go! Please consider donating to allow us to bring quality programming to all girls. Fans of The Offspring … we have a lot of cool memorabilia that the band donated to give to our donors.
There are a lot of private music schools and programs in Orange County, and while they offer great services, it is often difficult for low-income families to participate due to cost. Money raised here allows us to charge sliding scale for our program, so all families can afford to give their girls the gift of rock! Our program not only aims to teach about music, but also how girls can work together to raise each other up, instead of devolving into the female cattiness you see in too often in school and on reality TV.
Check it out! If you can’t donate at this time, please share this link to help spread the word!

They came … and they rocked! To our first “class” of 43 campers … you showed the world that girls rock!
Thank you to all our volunteers, donors, and supporters for making this year’s camp happen!
In July 2013, Rock ‘n’ Roll Camp for Girls Orange County put on its first Girls Rock Camp summer program. Many of our campers got to learn how to play an instrument for the first time! In their bands, they wrote songs about staying up all night, a mustache named Benjamin Franklin, and blasting the patriarchy cyclone. They played their first gig in front of a packed house at Incrediflix in Costa Mesa. We’re so proud of them!
Thanks to all who made our first Ladies Rock Camp OC a success!
Ladies Rock Camp Orange County is a weekend bootcamp event for women ages 18 and up. It is a scaled down version of the summer program for girls … women get to learn an instrument, form a band, write a song, and perform in a showcase!
Check out the Spring 2013 camper bands!
